Prince Rama have always had a decent idea of when shtick becomes too goofy for its own good, and have psychedelically towed that line for a good number of years now. In that spirit, the duo’s upcoming LP is called Xtreme Now, and it’s a concept album about, you guessed it, extreme sports. If that wasn’t quirky enough for you, the band claims to have recorded the entire thing “on a black metal utopian commune” off the coast of Estonia with XXXChange, who’s name you may recognize from his former work with Baltimore party-starter Spank Rock. Of course, none of this would really matter if Prince Rama didn’t consistently churn out good music, and “Bahia” is damn good.

Things got pretty heady on my SOTD yesterday, so let’s go with the polar opposite for today. 100% pop from Skylar Spence, nee St. Pepsi, with the perfect video accompaniment.
Remember yesterday when I mentioned my utter lack of recognition for the impending cold and snow? Here’s another reason to pretend winter is just a bad dream. Off of the brand new Michael LP by Les Sins (who you may know better as Chaz Bundick, who also releases music under his Toro Y Moi alter-ego), out now on Carpark.
Don’t worry bro, I know that everybody around you is making you feel mighty lonely be dry humping each other all day long, but at least you have your inflatable pet disco ball to keep you company. This is off a single that SP is putting out through Carpark on August 12th. Preorder it here.
