All posts for the month October, 2015

In general, I find spoonerism to be more of a silly effect. But I like the sound of Cina Polada. And this is some pretty indie pop.

Whoops! Little late with my post today. Let’s all live vicariously through Madrid’s Hinds and The Parrots for a few minutes as they cover Thee Headcoats and The Almighty Defenders, respectively.

From another upcoming album. This one from Woozy on Community Records and this one has a bit of a grand sound. Very anthemic and delightful.

A friendly radio shower PSA: Protomartyr is streaming their album over at NPR, and it’s pretty goddamned good. “I Forgive You” is a track that stood out on first listen, so have yourself a listen above.

No show tonight, since Jim and I will both be at the Built to Spill concert. Hopefully that’s a good enough excuse for you. We’ll be back next week.
Mexico City’s Lorelle Meets the Obsolete chill out a bit in comparison to their last full length, meaning “Vocablo No. 1” falls more into the blissed out side of the psych spectrum. “Vocablo” is the band’s contribution to a split 7″ with Cloudland Canyon, who are equally worth your time.

Well, it took a decade, but Charlotte Marionneau is finally releasing a follow up to her debut as Le Volume Courbe. “Rusty” (no relation to the Rodan album, I can only assume) features production from My Bloody Valentine’s own Kevin Shields, who also contributes vocals and instrumentation to the record.
