La Luz has a new album coming out in August. It’s produced by Ty Segall which seems like a great match. Based on this single, I’d say so indeed. They are touring too. But alas, it appears Pittsburgh is not making the cut. I hate that.

I still find myself being surprised when Low, quintessential slowcore vets that they are, can create such an imposing atmosphere with so few ingredients. “No Comprende” is a reminder of how effortless it seems when they make “epic” happen.

Jad Fair has gone mad prolific once again. He has a new album out with Half Japanese bandmate Jason Willett. You can read more about it here. This is a great first single.

I originally was going to post something else today. But while I liked it, I listened to this track and decided I was just filling space. I don’t want to do that to you. Or to me. So here is something awesome. At least in my worthless opinion.

I get it: it’s Monday, you’ve still got about four hours left before you can go home, and you’re currently daydreaming about reenacting that Office Space scene where they drive the printer out to the middle of a field and put it out of its misery. Well, I can’t magically turn the clock forward to 5:00, but I can try to ease your troubled mind a bit for the next half hour or so. Just let this new Four Tet release play in the background, take a few deep breaths, and remind yourself that you’re already 1/10th of the way through your work week. It’s basically over already!
