Slow Radio Shower is where we explore music from a different part of the world. It can be a nation or a region within a nation. We keep this post open for some time while we explore. This month we are exploring Sri Lanka.

A lot of the music seems to have some reference to the complex political history of Sri Lanka. I have a friend who updated me on political stuff but I remain unqualified to speak to that. So obviously here I’m focusing on the music. This band has some politics in their music but I dig the music quite a bit. It is a sort of experimental jazz. – Jayne

This is very neat. Keerthi Pasquel is a very famous singer in Sri Lanka. And a friend got to perform with him after winning a contest. Anyhow, I think it’s super cool. – Jayne

Some free jazz from Sri Lanka. Pretty solid but this style of jazz is definitely an acquired taste I think.
