Well, the song’s called “Pittsburgh” and they’re signed to our own A-F Records, so let’s not pretend I wasn’t going to be posting this ripper from Philly’s Ma Jolie.

Jetpack Mailman is out 6/16 and the band is going to swing by The Murder Room on 6/27 if you wanna help them celebrate in person.

I just played The Black Angels on the radio show last week, but I’ve been a bit obsessive over the second half of this song lately. Seemed like as good as an excuse as ever to throw it up on here.
I played this on the show Sunday. I’ve also played it for myself multiple times daily for the past week or so. Absolutely beautiful. Sorry, I’ll revert back to sarcasm tomorrow.
Hey! We’re posting songs again! Mikal Cronin put out MCIII earlier this week, and it’s a pretty great slab of guitar pop. He appears to have gotten the celebrity seal of approval from both Kristen Schaal (from the Daily Show/Last Man on Earth) and Kurt Braunohler (of jet skiing across the US fame) in his video for “Turn Around”. And if you need one more famous-dude endorsement to really commit to the song, Conan O’Brien seemed to really enjoy it when Cronin stopped by his show last week:

Every once in a while, I hear a song so good that I get mad at myself for not discovering the band earlier. Case in point: this lovely droner by Italy’s Sonic Jesus.

This one doesn’t sound too far off from yesterdays song of the day. If the name Shana Cleveland sounds familiar, it’s probably because you’ve heard her singing for Seattle indie surfers La Luz.
