I really like this band Eux Autres I’ve recently discovered. They have this nice indie pop thing going. It’s somewhat reminiscent of Dressy Bessy for me.
Matt held down the reigns last night while I was returning from camping. Can’t beat the Nation of Ulysses, Destruction Unit, and Cursive. Hope yinz enjoyed the show. We’ll be back next Sunday with a special guest to boot.

Deerhunter just announced a new album, Fading Frontier, that’ll be out 10/16 on 4AD. I don’t think I need to tell you how excited this makes me. Along with the usual Deerhunter awesomeness, this one features contributions from Broadcast’s James Cargill and Stereolab’s Tim Gane.
The first single from Fading Frontier is “Snakeskin”, which builds on the back of a skittery, damn near danceable rhythm. The chord progressions and outro are still noticeably Deerhunter, though, and now the countdown to October officially begins.
A good band from Brooklyn is shocking.

I’m writing up this post on Saturday morning, so I’m working under the assumption that I’ll enjoy the Beach House show tonight at Mr. Smalls as much as I expect to. So to (preemptively) celebrate, here’s a little something La Blogotheque filmed around the release of 2010’s Teen Dream.

All due respect to the rest of Jim’s songs this week, but the Disco Doom song that went up is absolutely wonderful.
If you’d prefer to do some navel-gazing instead, I’d recommend the Old Smokey post, which probably would’ve taken my top spot on a good majority of weeks.
Jim Picks a Matt Song
You can’t miss with Ezra Furman. I really liked New Fries. But who can argue with a pink shiny ultrablast? This song is quite large in substance. Really love the shoegazy aspects of it.
