Today’s Random Album of the Day is Rush to Relax from Eddy Current Suppression Ring. They are somewhere between Garage Rock and Indie Rock. Rate Your Music even suggests Garage Punk which also kinda works. I feel like they are at least a little influenced by the Violent Femmes.

Fwiw I noticed they have a new album out this year. It’s their first in 7 years and their second album in 16 years. I downloaded this album because I liked one of their songs a lot. That song isn’t on this album though. So I do what I do.

Overall I like them. They have some edge. They have good riving bass lines. Some occasionally fun discordance. I liked the guitar on “Second Guessing” quite a bit. First the droning. Then the finger picking. Then back to the droning. That song has an almost jam band feel to it – but punkish.

Favorite Track(s): I liked “I’ve Got a Feeling”, “Walked Into a Corner” and “Second Guessing” the most… “Second Guessing” in particular!
