First off, let me mention that this video isn’t safe for work unless your boss is into some weird shit.
Anywho, apologies for my lack of post yesterday. I got busy and somehow wound up in NYC. Not that I’m complaining about that at all. Then I went here! And saw Kim Gordon help cover “Sister Ray”! And watched Lee Ranaldo play “Eric’s Trip” with Parquet Courts as his backing band! And about a half dozen other relatively cool things! All in all, not bad for a day that started off working in Philly.
Somehow, Animal Collective have managed to write their most Beach Boys-esque song to date without sounding a bit like anything that came out of Panda Bear’s Brian-Wilson-worship-era Person Pitch output.

Providence’s Atlantic Thrills put out an enjoyable slab of sunny garage psych on their self-titled album last year. “Vices” is a good reminder of what they can do when they’re locked in.

Sonic Bloom still gets regular plays on my Ipod, so it was definitely good news to hear that Night Beats have announced its follow up, Who Sold My Generation. “Power Child” finds the band picking up right where they left off, bluesy garage rock with just a tiny dash of snarl thrown in. See em live if you can!
