Here’s an easy way to burn an hour. Sonic Youth playing at London’s Brixton Academy in the early 90’s. They actually shared a bill with Pavement that night. The audio and video quality here are pretty good by bootleg standards, so feel free to enjoy the whole thing. And if you don’t have an hour to kill, “Kool Thing” starts around 10:30.
I still believe that the Kevin Parker-featuring “Daffodils” off of Mark Ronson’s Uptown Special (maybe you’ve heard of it?) is a fantastic song. I’ve also long maintained that Foals are still a great band, even as they get more polished in their journey away from Antidotes. So how convenient it is that the band offered up their take on the song during a recent stop at Triple J.

I’m writing up this post on Saturday morning, so I’m working under the assumption that I’ll enjoy the Beach House show tonight at Mr. Smalls as much as I expect to. So to (preemptively) celebrate, here’s a little something La Blogotheque filmed around the release of 2010’s Teen Dream.
