We’re currently doing a music league using the Band Jam App and our theme for this past round was Song for a Rainy Day. Here’s an easy way to burn an hour. Sonic Youth playing at London’s Brixton Academy in the early 90’s. They actually shared a bill with Pavement that night. The audio and video quality here are pretty good by bootleg standards, so feel free to enjoy the whole thing. And if you don’t have an hour to kill, “Kool Thing” starts around 10:30.

Drone on, Thurston. Drone on. For those of you keeping track, Moore’s backing band includes both Steve Shelly (also of SY fame) and MBV’s Debbie Googe. Plus, you know, Thurston fucking Moore. I’m assuming “Forevermore” will be on Moore’s upcoming solo effort, The Best Day, out 10/21 on Matador Records.
