Today, I’d like to call your attention to the consistently wonderful Aquarium Drunkard blog, where they just posted a pair of covers by Benjamin Booker. While his take on Furry Lewis’s “Falling Down Blues” is very well done, it’s the latter of the two tracks, a live take on the Otis Redding and the Pinetoppers’ classic, that’s had me hitting play repeatedly for the past few days.

Both songs can be found here, and if either catch your ear, you’d also be well served to take a listen to AD’s recently posted fall mixtape, which is right here. Really, just make a mental note to check the site daily, as very few days go by without a quality post or two.

I recently picked up this album.  I think I heard about her via noisetrade?  Ah, look at this, I did.  Noisetrade sends too many e-mails, but I generally like the concept.  Anyhow, Caroline Rose has a great sultry voice and a classic americana blues style.  I like it.

No, you dont need to adjust your computer’s speakers. It takes a few seconds for “Vision’s” to come into focus, but once it does, Absolutely Free’s krauty take on The Verve-esque Britpop doesn’t stop pushing for the song’s entire five minute run time.
