It might not be able to compete with the band playing the song live on Letterman, but “A New Wave” getting the Bob’s Burger treatment is pretty damn good.

Small sample size, I know, but Smith’s Euclid might be the most underrated release of the year so far. It only seems fitting that she’s currently opening shows for Grouper, who put out my favorite LP of 2014.
No show tonight, but I’m sure you’ve been listening to Massive Music Weekend on WRCT nonstop since Friday and you already knew that.
You’re watching the most stereotypical 80’s action movie imaginable. The two heroes, Donnie and Taylor, just captured the bad guy, and they’re back on their houseboat reminiscing about the case they just closed. The police chief calls to congratulate them on a job well done. Donnie responds with his token catchphrase, “Well, Cap, these suit jackets don’t pay for themselves!” Everybody laughs uncontrollably. Donnie and Taylor high five. Fade to black, and this is the song that plays over the credits.
Who needs to reinvent the wheel when it got you exactly where you needed to be in the first place?
